Entertainment | Evergreen Music Nigeria launches Last of the Originals, set to celebrate Dele Ojo, Brymo and others in Lagos.

PRESS RELEASE: The Last of the Originals 2016 [Maiden Edition], Honoring African Music Legends.


The Last of the Originals is an initiative of the Evergreen Musical Company Limited, to celebrate Nigeria’s musical legends who have dedicated years of talents, originality and hard work to the music scene.

Evergreen Musical Company has been at the forefront of promoting and preserving the works of Nigerian music legends that have paid their dues beyond mere trick of nostalgia in helping to set a pace for the budding new generation artists.
According to Bimbo Esho daughter of Mr Femi Esho the highlife music aficionado who have been at the forefront of supporting and preserving the works of Nigerian musicians for more than 12 years now. Bimbo said she and her vibrant teams are set out to immortalize the memories and person of past legends and help build great enthusiasm for our declining musical heritage thereby reawakening the yearning for those music genres that make positive statements about our communal values and cultural heritage.
The maiden edition of this year’s Last of the Originals is in celebration of a juju highlife king, Dele Ojo born in 1940 and a native of Ilara Mokin in Ondo State. He remains one of the few uncelebrated music icons of our  time who have been relegated to the doldrums and whose songs like his contemporary has undoubtedly paved way in  setting a pace for the budding new generation artists.
The event will kick off in May 2016.
The event will be a highly memorable one as indicated in the programmes being put together to celebrate Dele Ojo’s musical heritage, part of which will have young and vibrant artist perform songs of these musical maestro and with Dele Ojo on stage relieving us of the old Lagos music style. The event will be a walk down the musical memory lane.
The event will be by invitation as it promises to be full of excitement and will have in attendance the who is who in cooperate  world,  music and art industry.
