According to the
Twitter poll conducted by the Nigerian Wailing Wailers via its Twitter Handle
@NGRWailers , its seems all the sentiments President Buhari has been enjoying
since the commencement of his tenor has wither down the drain.
The results of the
poll may not be unconnected with the reality of economy crush and hardship
faced by Nigerians under Buhari.
Nigerians have been
complaining of Mr. Buhari’s style of governance which is not yielding any
useful and desired economic impact on the citizens, it seems citizens are now
more poorer than under the Government of ex-president Jonathan they rejected at
the poll in 2015.
Many Nigerians and
international observers have doubted the sincerity of Buhari corruption fight
which was the main fulcrum of his campaign prior his emergence as Nigeria’s
president.
Mr. Buhari has been
seen to be fighting only the opposing voices rather than taking a holistic
approach in his anti corruption stance.
Another frustration
and betrayal Nigerians faced with Mr. Buhari is his lopsided appointments of
Northern majority into his cabinet and other key sector of the economy, Mr.
Buhari is an Hausa/Fulani from Nigerias Northern region.
His outburst during a Live television
programme where he was quoted saying he can’t give the 97% voters who gave him
bulk votes and those of minority south with about 5% votes same treatments.
These statements have further polarized a fragile democracy of Nigeria.
Nigerians
irrespective of their regions are now calling for the removal of President
Buhari at all cost as the most populous African nation is seems to be stagnant
economically without any hope of solution in sight.
Economists have now
adjudged the biggest economy under former President Jonathan as a Nation
sliding into recession in less than two years leadership of Buhari.
Social Media is agog
with the narratives of Buhari’s antecedent of 1984 where he almost ran the
country aground under 18 months before he was successfully kicked out via a
military coup.
Although Boko Haram
did not start under the leadership of Buhari but the spade of killing in the
North Eastern Nigeria has not stopped, Fulani Herdsmen militia who many have
suspected to be Boko Haram in disguise have migrated to Southern Nigeria and are
on a killing spree in without any decisive actions by President Buhari.
Anguish and Poverty
has almost double due to some unworkable policies introduced by President
Buhari and his team.
These few reasons
highlighted above may not be unconnected to how the voters in the Wailing
Wailers poll voted.
See result below.
