Eid-El-Kabir: Rep Obasa preaches peaceful co-existence amongst Nigerians
The lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency in the lower legislative chamber, Hon. Tajudeen Obasa has urged Nigerians to live peacefully amongst each other irrespective of creed,calling or political affiliations .
The lawmaker made this call in his sallah message released by his media aide, Mr Opeyemi Ahmed in Lagos.
According to the statement, he called on all muslim faithfuls in the country to use this opportunity to re-dedicate themselves to the virtues of the religion as stipulated by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
"Muslims should see this celebration as an opportunity to get closer to God and pray for his guidance, it is a time for them to reflect their minds and imbibe the spirit of tolerance for peaceful co-existence to be achieved in the world".
Obasa enjoined christians and people of other faiths to participate actively in the celebration, describing it as a way to build religious harmony and tolerance in the world.
"Peace is the key to development, for the world to be in a state of tranquility , everyone must stop the agitation for the superiority of his or her religion, the oneness of God is enough to prove a point that all of us in the world are serving only one God through various means and processes"
Finally, the lawmaker acknowledged the effort of the religious leaders across the length and breadth of the country for their effortlessly role in keeping Nigerians closer to Almighty God.
